ORA BELLE SMITH

ORA B. (LEE) SMITH, resident of Camp I on the Wilson River, passed away at the Tillamook Hospital on February 13 after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Smith was born in Gales Creek, Oregon, September 10, 1886 and had lived all of her life in the neighborhood between Tillamook and Gales Creek. She was married March 20, 1905 to Oscar Arther Smith and to their union 13 children were born. She was a very busy wife and mother, beloved by her family and friends.

She leaves to mourn beside her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Hult of Vernonia, Mrs. Maxine Smejkal, Mrs. Beryl Cota, Mrs. Ruby McDonald, Mrs. Retha M. O. Conner of Camp I; eight sons, Clifford Lee, Wayne Abner, Roscoe Kelly of Sweet Home, Garland Arther (Sam) of Vernonia, Kenneth Eugene (Spud) of the U.S. Marines, Donald Robert (Bob) of Vernonia, Raymond Leroy and Ronald Duane of Camp I Tillamook; two sisters, Mrs. Deborah Herzog of Butte, Montana and Mrs. M. E. Coffman of Portland; one brother, Harrison Lee of Medford, and ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 17 from Sacred Heart Church and interment was made in the Gales Creek Cemetery.
